The Boden Birthright by Mary Connealy
Mary Connealy has done it again. The Boden Birthright is a novella that sets up her new series The Cimarron Legacy. Chance Boden escapes Boston with his son and no lace to be found. After Chance's wife died they stayed with her mother and father, who live in a mansion. They will do whatever it takes to turn their grandson into a proper young man.
Chance plans his escape and heads west, finally stopping in New Mexico. He starts working for Frank Chastain and his daughter Veronica. A shooting, a hasty wedding, and finding unexpected love fill this novella with page-turning anticipation. Will Chance's in-laws find his son? Who shot Frank and left him for dead? I didn't want Chance and Veronica's story to end. Chance has to work through losing his first wife, but he recognizes Veronica's worth and tells her so. I love him as the hero. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

In Love and War
In Love and War
Four different stories of couples who knew each other in the past put together by competitions. Overcoming past hurts and leaning on God for their future, these encouraging stories show us that God has our best in mind.
Lassoed By Love by Miralee Ferrell
Lyndsey Morgan thought she’d be working at Red Butte Resort’s gift store as an assistant manager, until she gets there and finds out she’ll be mucking stalls, with her boss being a guy from high school who’d asked her to the prom then stopped talking to her. Can she overcome her fear of horses and find true love?
Steve Graham asked Lyndsey to the prom and she turned him down. Now here she is working in his barn. Can a pampered girl and a cowboy find a future together?
Designed With Love by Kimberly Rose Johnson
Jessie Morgan enters a landscaping design competition. Her high school friend Scott is in the landscaping business as well. For some reason he stopped talking to her when she started dating the high school quarterback. They team up to win the competition, but can they put their past behind them and work together?
Hungry Hearts by Debby Mayne
Melissa Shaw owns the Spoons Diner. Cameron Prater moved back to town planning to open Chili and Chips a few doors down. They competed all through high school from student council to Valedictorian. Ten years later, nothing has changed. They agree to a truce, but with her old feelings still in place, can she be just friends with him? Who will win the challenge this time?
More Than Meets the Eye by Trish Perry
Jensy St Martin is promoted to graphic designer. She is interested in being independent rather than being in love. Phil Quinn is hired as a graphic designer as well. She hasn’t seen him since high school. Assigned to compete on a design for a customer, they end up having to work together to create an ad. Can Jensy fight the feelings she has for Phil and put behind her what she knew of Phil from high school? Is he the same bad boy or has he changed? You will love this story as Jensy finds out sometimes gossip isn’t what it appears.

Bride by Arrangement by Karen Kirst
I loved this story by Karen Kirst. The third story in the Cowboy Creek stories, this is Noah Burgess' story. Will and Daniel, Noah's friends, surprise him with a mail-order bride. They found love and happiness and want him to have the same experience, even though he is perfectly content alone. He feels his physical scars and the ones nobody can see have damaged him too much to find love. But he's never met someone as determined as Grace.
Grace Longstreet needs to get away from Chicago with her two little girls. Her husband has died and her brother-in-law is making unwanted advances and threatening her. She plans it with her cousin to go in her place and marry Noah.
Can Grace convince Noah to marry her even though she has lied about who she is and he doesn't want a wife? Will Noah realize he has fallen in love with Grace before he forces her to leave or marry someone else? Between figuring out who has forged the deeds, poisoned the cattle, and deterred the town's growth, the action keeps you turning the page. The romance between Grace and Noah will make you think about this story long after you finish the last page.

A Twist of Faith by Pepper Basham
Despite the fact that Doctor Adelina Roseland doesn't like dogs and is from the city, Reese Mitchell's degree is from Virginia Tech and hers is from UVA, and that she is bound and determined to stay away from rural Appalachia, when she takes a wager to reduce Reese's Appalachianism in ten weeks to prepare him for a job interview in Chicago, will the end result be she gets the dream of her life, or will she realize dreams change? Can Reese convince Adelina her notions of Appalachia are misguided?
Adelina Roseland has her first job after acquiring her PhD, in rural Appalachia, a place she said she'd never return to. She accepts a wager from her supervisor, but will winning cause her to lose her heart? What about her dream of living in the city? Reese is having a hard time not falling for her, but he's too busy with his kids, the farm, and his brother's illness. When Adelina offers to help him with his upcoming interview, he decides he needs this job to provide income for his family. And talking better, looking better, can only help his chances of getting this job he so desperately needs.
The sparks fly when these two try working together. Humor, love, forgiveness, and realizing God's grace makes this a story I'll read over and over. Will Reese move to the big city? Can Adelina move to the country and they both get their dream come true? Or will they turn their backs on love to pursue what they've spent years striving for? A Twist of Faith is a story of letting God lead you and finding what He has in store for you. Reese and Adelina find out it may not look anything like they thought it would.

Breaking Free by Jennifer Slattery
Even when you think you've got no where else to go, God is with you.
Breaking Free fills you with hope. No matter how bad it gets, God is there, waiting for you to turn to Him.
Christ came to set us free, free from addictions, our pasts, what other people think about us. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Put your hope in Christ and be set free. God is faithful. Matthew 11:28-29 states God will give you rest. Put your faith, hope, and assurance in him and experience the rest only he can give.
Trent Goddard struggles with alcohol and gambling. His whole life comes crumbling down around his ears. Alice sees her marriage ending, her kids won't speak to her, they lose their house, but in the midst of it all, God is there, offering hope, forgiveness, and love. Can they put their trust in God and get their life back or will they continue running? I was pulled into their lives, their struggles. Life is real. Struggles are hard. But with God on your side, you will overcome. This book filled me with hope.
