Island Hope by Kimberly Rose Johnson

Looking for small-island, big romance love stories? You’ve found the place. The characters become your friends and each story brings the friendships closer. Island Hope is the last book in the Wildflower B&B Romance series. You do not need to read them in order, but you will want to read them to follow the characters’ stories.

Derrick Trainor is named acting manager of Wildflower Resort and Spa while Piper is on bedrest. He’s still learning to be a single dad to his 15 year old daughter Alyssa, after his wife’s car accident and death four years ago. Allyssa is the typical teenager, beginning to drive and date. Derrick must learn how to juggle working more hours with taking care of his daughter and being there for her.

Hope Michaels is the owner of the electrical company hired to do electrical work for the resort. After being hurt, she is in hiding, from life and herself. She doesn’t let anyone get too close. When Piper dictates that Derrick oversee her work while she is out, she is livid, but then she finds out why Piper insists on it.

Can Derrick and Hope work together without stepping on each other’s toes? When Derrick has a problem with Alyssa can he turn to Hope for help? Can they work through past hurts to find a future together?

Derrick’s life is run by fear, fear of something happening to his daughter, fear of what he can’t control. Hope’s life was changed when someone close to her hurt her. She is afraid to let anyone close again. When Derrick accuses her and then pushes her out of his life, she doesn’t see how she can trust him. Can they learn to trust God with their hearts, hopes, and fears?
Island Hope is the perfect read. I read it straight through. From Derrick and Hope to the other characters, you get drawn into the story and can’t put it down.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
